Doomwatch 3 - Thomas Sheridan - The Debut of The Purple Pill

Doomwatch 3 - Thomas Sheridan - The Debut of The Purple Pill

Join alex:g for the brand new show. DOOMWATCH is with you Fridays 6.00pm - 8.00pm. You are now not only able to listen in, but you can also see the show, in-vision, via YouTube and at www.ukcolumn.org/doomwatch

In this third edition of DOOMWATCH, going out live on 15 November, alex:g welcomes THOMAS SHERIDAN as his guest. He is an independent alternative artist, author, satirist, musician, public speaker, broadcaster and researcher currently based in the West of Ireland. His illustrations have appeared on the cover of newsstand magazines, books and websites worldwide. His latest book is The Anvil of the Psyche, which looks at social manipulation through popular culture and marketing. He has recently turned his attention to documentary making and film production concerning mind control, free speech and other consciousness rights issues.

Topics up for discussion in the show include police spying on Cambridge students, wind turbines decimating bat populations, a gas industry employee being seconded to draft the UK's energy policy, and is Russell Brand a Trojan Horse for the Truth Movement, designed to reintegrate those wishing to step outside mainstream thinking back under the wing of the emerging totalitarian superstate? (And don't think such a thing hasn't happened before, as Thomas will explain).

The show's predecessor, Red Alert Radio, clocked up an amazing 40 episodes since it made its debut in January 2013. The format was constantly evolving over its time, with many different presentation line-ups and show structures, as we experimented with the best way to get some very complex news stories over to our audience. However, with a new broadcast slot and a new strategy for gaining influence, this was an ideal time for change .

You will be able to tune in to the radio version of DOOMWATCH via www.peterborough.fm by clicking LISTEN LIVE or go to http://tunein.com/radio/Peterborough-FM-877-s142905/

Wind Turbines Blamed in Death of Estimated 600,000 Bats in 2012

BREITBART DOT COM: BOULDER, Colo, 8 Nov  -- Wind turbines killed at least 600,000 -- and possibly as many as 900,000 -- bats in the United States in 2012, researchers say. Writing in the journal BioScience, the researchers said they used sophisticated statistical techniques to infer the probable number of bat deaths at wind energy facilities from the number of dead bats found at 21 locations. Bats, which play an important role in the ecosystem as insect-eaters, are killed at wind turbines not only by collisions with moving turbine blades but also by the trauma resulting from sudden changes in air pressure that occur near a fast-moving blade, the study said. Study author Mark Hayes of the University of Colorado notes that 600,000 is a conservative estimate -- the true number could be 50 percent higher than that -- and some areas of the country might experience much higher bat fatality rates at wind energy facilities than others.

Big Six energy firms face investor exodus over political interference in pricing

The Independent: Fund managers controlling billions of pounds invested in UK energy companies have warned that they are considering pulling out of the sector because of political interference in the market. The Big Six suppliers have been heavily criticised in recent weeks over the prices they are charging customers, many of which have recently introduced above-inflation price rises – being accused of exploiting vulnerable consumers while at the same time making huge profits.

The controversy prompted the Labour leader, Ed Miliband, to promise a price freeze for 20 months if his party wins the 2015 election. In response energy companies claimed any such action would curtail their ability to invest and could even lead to blackouts. The threat of political intervention has hit the share prices of the Big Six, and raised questions about future profitability. The speculation has angered some of the country’s leading institutional investors, who have said privately that they will act if the meddling continues.

Another fund manager, James Smith of Premier Asset Management, said: “It’s right to talk about affordability but it must be done in the right way. We can’t view utilities as charities – you won’t find many private companies out there that aren’t looking to charge the most they can on whatever product they make or supply. It is right for regulators to ensure that the market is operating in a competitive manner. The alternative to the status quo – nationalisation – would be unlikely to reduce prices.”

Gas industry employee seconded to draft UK's energy policy

The Guardian:  A major state subsidy scheme for the UK’s gas-fired power stations is being designed by an employee of a gas company working on secondment to the government, according to a document released by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc). The list of industry secondees, released to Greenpeace under freedom of information (FOI) rules, shows that the head of capacity market design at Decc is an employee seconded for two years from the Irish energy company ESB, which owns three gas-fired power plants in the UK. A separate industry document names the employee as Fergal McNamara and describes him as the head of capacity market design at the ministry as well as being a “government representative”. However, the ESB and Decc declined to confirm his identity when contacted by the Guardian. The document also reveals that several other employees of big gas companies are working at senior levels within Decc, prompting criticism that there is an unhealthy closeness between the government and the big fossil fuel companies.

Genetically engineered trees under US Department of Agriculture consideration could harm environment

Russia Today: As the US Department of Agriculture considers whether to authorize the unrestricted planting of genetically engineered Eucalyptus trees experts are warning that such a policy would not only be unnatural, but negatively impact the environment. The GE tree is primarily developed by ArborGen, a biotechnology corporation that has been met with protests in recent months, to provide materials to create paper and the wood pellets that fuel power plants around the world. Despite the trees’ propensity for cooler climates, ArborGen has sought to promote the trees’ growth in the south eastern US under the notion that they will help the environment sustain itself.

Yet a new report from the Center for Food Safety titled “Genetically Engineered Trees: The New Frontier of Biotechnology” details how GE trees could increase greenhouse gas emission and reduce biodiversity. “Commercializing GE trees could be devastating to the environment,” Debbie Barker, international program director for the Center for Food Safety, told Eco Watch. “Factory forests’ will accelerate and expand large-scale, chemical-intensive, monoculture plantations. We need to understand the risks in order to determine if GE trees are a sustainable way forward or a dangerous diversion.”

Among the concerns laid out in the report is the immediate risk GE trees would pose to natural trees in the surrounding area. Not only are they expected to suck up at least twice as much water as normal trees, but GE trees are also known for their ability to spread seeds and pollens over great distances. If wild trees become contaminated they could be more vulnerable to pests and pathogens, thus risking the life span of natural US forests. The GE trees would also require substantial amounts of fertilizers and pesticides as well.

Atos, G4S paid no corporation tax last year despite carrying out £2billion of taxpayer-funded work

The Telegraph: Two of the country’s biggest private contractors paid no corporation tax in Britain last year, despite carrying out billions of pounds of taxpayer funded work for the Government, an official audit has found. A report by the National Audit Office, published today, disclosed for the first time how much Government work is now outsourced to the private sector.

It found that the four biggest suppliers - Atos, Capita, G4S and Serco - carried out £6.6billion-worth of work for the public sector and central Government last year. Yet two of them – Atos and G4S which carried out £2billion-worth for work for the Government and public sector – paid no corporation tax at all in the UK in 2012. Capita paid between £50million and £56million, while Serco paid £25million in tax. G4S sources said that the company did not pay any corporation tax last year because it had carried one-off losses over from the previous year. Overall it said it paid around £400million in PAYE-related taxes.

A spokesman for Atos, which is carrying out fit for work tests on sick and disabled benefits claimants, said: “We don’t undertake any aggressive tax planning and everything booked in the UK is also billed here which is why HM Revenue and Customs has classified us as low risk. However, due to significant investment in the UK to maintain our business here as well as pension contributions, we did not make enough profit last year to qualify for Corporation Tax.”

Flu data to be collected from UK schools

BBC: Scientists are to begin collecting data on flu outbreaks from UK schools this winter to better understand its spread. The Flusurvey surveillance project is in its fifth year, but for the first time classrooms are being asked to take part. It coincides with the NHS beginning to roll out childhood flu vaccinations.

In time, the nasal spray vaccine will be available for children aged 16 and under. This flu season it is being offered to all children aged two and three, as well as children of any age with long-term health conditions such as diabetes.

Currently, there is no sign that the flu season has begun - GP consultant rates for flu-like illnesses have so far remained low throughout the UK. Figures suggest a fifth of eligible two and three-year-olds have received their flu vaccine. A third of eligible "at risk" adults and children, such as those with asthma, have been immunised, as have half of people in the over-65 age group. A new vaccine is needed each year to protect against the flu viruses expected to be in circulation that winter and to boost the immune response. They will also be looking to see what role exercise and diet might play in keeping flu at bay.

Unions urged to use Press law to silence newspapers: Threat of mass legal action to end critical media coverage

Daily Mail: A Labour candidate has urged union bosses to use new Press regulations to launch class action complaints against newspapers who criticise them. Clive Lewis – who is a member of three unions – criticised the Daily Mail’s exposure of bullying by Unite thugs. In a chilling insight into the way Left-wingers plan to use the Royal Charter, the would-be MP said unions should get together to file complaints to combat ‘scurrilous’ reporting.  He told a new trade union think tank that in the past, only people specifically affected by a news story have been able to launch a grievance against a newspaper.

But under the terms of the Royal Charter – approved by the Privy Council last month to the delight of the Hacked Off pressure group – third party groups will be able to complain en masse in so-called class action cases.  The measure has been opposed by newspaper industry groups, who say it is likely to be used by activists to deter legitimate investigative journalism.  The Mail revealed how Unite thugs targeted the families and neighbours of staff at the Grangemouth petrochemical plant in Scotland during strike action last month.

Spy In Bag: MI6 Man Probably Locked Himself In

Sky News: GCHQ codebreaker Gareth Williams probably died after locking himself inside his own holdall, a fresh police review of the case has found. The naked body of the 31-year-old was discovered in the bag in his central London flat in August 2010 triggering speculation that he had been targeted by foreign agents because of his work. However, the latest investigation by the Metropolitan Police has found that Mr Williams, who had a keen interest in escapology, probably died alone in an accident.

Detectives believe the codebreaker, who was on secondment to MI6, locked himself into a sports bag in his bath and managed to padlock it from the outside without leaving any DNA traces. The conclusion of a 16-month Scotland Yard review reverses the view of its own original investigators who found it was "highly likely" there was third-party involvement. And it effectively overturns the finding of a coroner who said last year that Mr Williams was probably killed unlawfully.

The inquest had heard that two experts had tried 400 times to lock themselves in a similar bag but had failed. However, days after the inquest had finished, an Army Sergeant showed how it was possible to climb into the North Face holdall and do up the zip before padlocking it shut. Mr Williams' family issued a statement responding to the outcome of the police investigation saying that they still felt the coroner's verdict best represented the circumstances of Mr Williams' death.  Deputy Assistant Commissioner Martin Hewitt said that suggestions police had been duped by the intelligence service because the investigation contradicted the coroner's findings were "beyond credibility" and said he had not had the "wool pulled over my eyes".

At the inquest in April last year, the coroner Dr Fiona Wilcox warned that it was unlikely the mystery of Mr Williams' death would ever be satisfactorily explained.  She said: "The cause of his death was unnatural and likely to have been criminally mediated.  I am therefore satisfied that on the balance of probabilities that Gareth was killed unlawfully."

Notes: No trace of his DNA on the padlock. No palm prints of his on the bath rim, considering he was supposed to have lowered himself into the bath. Who is this Army Sergeant who managed to succeed where two experts and 400 attempts failed?  Heating switched on in mid-Summer (helps decomposition). 15 other DNA traces in the apartment remain unidentified.

Police tried to spy on Cambridge students, secret footage shows

The Guardian:  Police sought to launch a secret operation to spy on the political activities of students at Cambridge University, a covertly recorded film reveals. An officer monitoring political campaigners attempted to persuade an activist in his 20s to become an informant and feed him information about students and other protesters in return for money. But instead the activist wore a hidden camera to record a meeting with the officer and expose the surveillance of undergraduates and others at the 800-year-old institution. The officer, who is part of a covert unit, is filmed saying the police need informants like him to collect information about student protests as it is "impossible" to infiltrate their own officers into the university.

The Guardian is not disclosing the name of the Cambridgeshire officer and will call him Peter Smith. He asks the man who he is trying to recruit to target "student-union type stuff" and says that would be of interest because "the things they discuss can have an impact on community issues". Smith wanted the activist to name students who were going on protests, list the vehicles they travelled in to demonstrations, and identify leaders of protests. He also asked the activist to search Facebook for the latest information about protests that were being planned.

The other proposed targets of the surveillance include UK Uncut, the campaign against tax avoidance and government cuts, Unite Against Fascism and environmentalists. The Cambridgeshire police initially insisted that there were implications for "national security" but later dropped this argument when challenged. At another point, the activist asked whether a group known as Cambridge Defend Education, which has protested against tuition fees and education cuts, would be of interest.

The Purple Pill Cometh

Thomas Sheridan Blog: People ask me why I am taking such a major interest in the Russell Brand/BBC Newsnight interview and especially the social, political and psychological after-effects it has unleashed. They claim I am 'jealous' of Mr Brand (!!??!!). Giving him too much attention. Obsessed with him. They state this as they join new Facebook pages entitled Russell Brand for Prime Minister and share memes with Fabian Socialist platitudes on them, memes and statements they would have rejected only last week. Essentially the Powers-That-Be are purposefully creating a rift or a Reformation/Civil War within the Alternative Movement. This serves many purposes, but the main one is to get people who have opted out 'back into the system' - have them voting for 'Socialist Egalitarian' candidates (in reality, traditional Left Wing Fabian Socialist parties such as Labour). Have them forget their anger at the system. Get them meditating, and not raging against the system, have them voting once more and all set for Agenda 21. Allow them their 'silly conspiracy theories'.

New statin drug scam: Half the doctors on recommendation panel have Big Pharma ties

NaturalNews: Half of the doctors on the panel that recommended a whopping increase in statin drug use have ties to Big Pharma. Last Tuesday, the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology issued the first new guidelines in a decade for preventing heart attacks and strokes - guidelines which called for one-third of all adults to consider taking cholesterol-lowering statin drugs, more than twice the 15 percent of adults who are recommended statins under current guidelines.

The justification for the panel having half its members with ties to Big Pharma: Ties between heart doctors and Big Pharma are so extensive that it is almost impossible to find a large group of doctors who have no industry ties.

In addition to continuing to target people with higher LDL cholesterol, the panel also recommended consideration of statins for: People who already have heart disease; People aged 40 to 75 with a higher estimated 10-year risk of heart disease;  and people aged 40 to 75 with Type 2 diabetes.

For years, mainstream medicine and its doctors have been promoting high cholesterol as a dangerous cause of heart attacks in order to sell huge quantities of highly profitable, patented statin drugs. The truth is that high cholesterol is merely a marker for increased heart attack risk and not an actual cause. The high cholesterol myth took a huge blow last year when renowned heart surgeon Dr Dwight Lundell stepped forward to expose how embracing the high cholesterol myth was wrong and the harm that has resulted.

Dr Lundell stated that the recommendations to lower cholesterol as well as those to severely restrict fat intake "are no longer scientifically or morally defensible." Dr Lundell explained that the real culprit for heart disease was inflammation in our arterial walls and "injury and inflammation in our blood. Simply stated," Dr Lundell said, "without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel."

The recommendations for increased statin use flies in the face of increased evidence of the harm that statin drugs cause - including harm to the very cardiovascular system they are supposed to protect. One of the worst effects caused by statin drugs is that they severely limit natural production of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is vital for muscle health and longevity - and the heart happens to be one of the largest muscles in the body.

Statin drugs also interfere with the availability of vitamin K2, which is essential for good cardiovascular health as well as healthy bones. Among other harms, statins have also recently been linked to decreased testosterone production and sperm counts. In 2012, the FDA was finally compelled to mandate new warnings on statin drugs due to mounting evidence of memory loss, muscle pain and increased risk for diabetes - which would seem to call into question the new statin recommendations for diabetics.

In what should have been a final nail in the coffin for statin drugs, shortly after the FDA mandated warnings, a new study found that statin drug use leads to accelerated coronary artery and aortic artery calcification, both of which greatly contribute to cardiovascular disease and mortality.

Quantum physics proves that there IS an afterlife

Daily Mail: Most scientists would probably say that the concept of an afterlife is either nonsense, or at the very least unprovable. Yet one expert claims he has evidence to confirm an existence beyond the grave - and it lies in quantum physics. Professor Robert Lanza claims the theory of biocentrism teaches that death as we know it is an illusion created by our consciousness.

By looking at the universe from a biocentric's point of view, this also means space and time don't behave in the hard and fast ways our consciousness tell us it does. In summary, space and time are 'simply tools of our mind.' Once this theory about space and time being mental constructs is accepted, it means death and the idea of immortality exist in a world without spatial or linear boundaries. Theoretical physicists believe that there is infinite number of universes with different variations of people, and situations taking place, simultaneously. Lanza added that everything which can possibly happen is occurring at some point across these multiverses and this means death can't exist in 'any real sense' either.  Lanza, instead, said that when we die our life becomes a 'perennial flower that returns to bloom in the multiverse.'

HOW THE DOUBLE-SLIT EXPERIMENT SUPPORTS LANZA'S THEORY:  In the experiment, when scientists watch a particle pass through two slits in a barrier, the particle behaves like a bullet and goes through one slit or the other. Yet if a person doesn't watch the particle, it acts like a wave. This means it can go through both slits at the same time. This demonstrates that matter and energy can display characteristics of both waves and particles, and that the behaviour of the particle changes based on a person's perception and consciousness.
